But it didn't even help to have most of my external FW drives off, and all connected USB devices off. I think with these older computers, voltage to USB devices is very spotty. The other change I made, after another reboot and noticing the FF800 not recognised (first time since I switched to booting it before the computer, but this may be the first time I power cycled the computer with it still on), was to go back to my old way of powering up the RME Fireface 800 after the computer was booted. At any rate, I think Firewire is to blame. I'll have to incrementally move other plug-ins from quarrantine to be safe, but that will take eons if I do it in stages.

Elicenser Not Optimized For Mac Windows 10 After one more reboot, and swapping the USB slots of the iLok and eLicenser, I finally was able to get the three non-quarrantined plug-ins from VSL Vienna Suite to validate.

#Cutepdf writer 3.0.0.4 software
It seems that the software that I depend on the most, other than DP itself, is being supported less and less on the Mac (this seems true of most VSL products as well as Sgteinberg products including eLicenser). Should I back out to DP 7.02, or will that cause problems with the three multi-chunk projects that I have already resaved under DP 7.1? I may have to buy a Windows computer if this keeps up.

Macs running the latest OS version now warn users that any 32-bit app they launch is not “optimized for your Mac” and needs to be upgraded. “This app needs to be updated by its developer to improve compatibility.” The message doesn’t mention 32 bits, but that’s what this is about. “This application is not optimized for your Mac,” says the warning.

Mac: If you depend on any older software, you’ve probably seen a cryptic message today. 'This application is not optimized for your Mac,' says the warning. This means that you are using a 32-bit application. Mac: If you depend on older software, you probably saw a cryptic message today. I've already lost so much time and am so far behind schedule on the project that I was 99% done with last night (when it was needed), I can't afford to take many time-consuming risks at this point, and feel that each action I take is making things worse.Īpple’s transition from 32-bit to 64-bit technology on the Mac has been in the works for a while for the company and developers, but so far users haven’t really been affected. Many many many hours later, I don't have a single eLicneser licensed plug-in validating in DP due to not finding the license key, and usually this then results in a crash so that even the small subset of plug-ins doesn't get cached as validated and I have to start the lengthy process over again (this usually takes 90 minutes). So I quarrantined all but three of my AU components. Unfortunately, DP 7.1 seems to be having major problems with eLicenser at AU validation time. Repairing permissions had no impact either. It used to be that restarting DP or the computer or replugging the USB key, or some combination thereof, might bootstrap the system into once again seeing the eLicenser software (mostly VSL, Korg, Eiosis, and Arturia).

The eLicenser problem has been getting worse and worse, with lost connections in the middle of projects, even when the eLicenser console app sees all the plug-ins and VI's as licensed and on the USB key.

It started last night with Vienna Suite not finding presets (my own or factory presets) - I realised that the update from December still didn't fix the problem from August, so had to back out to the May 2009 version yet again, but then DP started crashing constantly, so I realised I probably needed to trash my AU cache and start over with AU validation.

I have lost twelve hours trying to get at the heart of an ever-growing problem with Steinberg's blasted eLicenser, which they don't seem to feel obligated to ever get working on Mac OS X.
